One can only have phenomena if there are noumena [or a noumenon at least]. Because that sick old German fkk Kant said noumena are unknown, other atheists take this as a fact. Unfortunately for atheism Christ is the God of revelation - He can demonstrate His POWER & MIRACULOUS VISTAS to those who truly love

in what language? intesresting, as many other things magic, misticism and religion found an "answer" to the unknown, with science development we got the answers to those phenomenon like nigthmares, diseases, rain, etc.
Science can never probe the existence of god, never, because it´s based on faith, and science (also my mind after the 17 years of darkness) doesn´t work with faith, are two different worlds and realities without a common point.

Science deals with APPEARANCE only & it constantly revises & changes itself throughout the centuries. The physics of Aristotle isn't Newton's & Newton's is replaced by Einstein's and so on and so on. Science = observation + hypothesis & hypotheses are merely guesses & the beliefs clustering around them. Theology, on the other hand, is an encounter with REALITY - i.e. - it is the EXPERIENCE of God & this is gained through OTHER dimensions [My Kingdom is not of this world] because the DIVINE CAN BE PENETRATED BY APOTHEOSIS [metamorphosis or Transfiguration]: Christ showed James Peter & John how this can be achieved on Mt Thabor. Science cannot cure the common cold nor answer questions of evil & suffering & it cannot cure death & all the illnesses leading up to it. I suggest a trip to the Huichol - perhaps a curanderos can show you via mescalin how to expand consciousness beyond the quotidian.

Two years ago I was in a symposium with scientists, chamanes, artists and other freaks, there was not conclusions. For me all the entheogen experiences has an neurorogical and pharmacologic explanation, all this molecules interact with cellular receptors and alter the functions of the systems and senses (I'm an engineer pharmacist ;), at the end you "feel" what you want to "see" it´s "real" to your brain, but in the phisical world is just an imaginative process, a vision. Of course believers think to see god, the soul, or more, this is the explanation of martyrs their visions and neurotic experiences.

Again we´re talking about two different words with nothing in common, I´ve some philosophers friends and god believers, and we´ve learned to respect each other, but discussion are very very hard and I love it...because I´m open minded, we shout and get angry but at the end we parted as friends.

There's no mistaking the Almighty. Trillions of aeons before the gods came to earth they knew Him by His INORDINATE MIRACULOUS POWER. As St Paul said: in body or out of body I know not which. 'There' there are no molecules synapses etc. Engineer pharmacists chemists biologists scientists ETC do not know how brain & consciousness interact: Descartes to Kant et al none of them solved the 'mind-body' problem. Consciousness can become an IMMORTAL god of Increate Light superseding earth & its environs, capable of moving back through DIVINE REGIONS through which it fell. There aren't any molecules in Heaven and it is accessible. The physical world [Gk phusis = nature] i.e. the concrete world, is only a LESSER reality & the GREATER realities are populated by incredible beings. The concrete world is transient/ephemeral - it is ruled by BECOMING & DEATH, neither understood by science. Take away the body [the flesh] and the light body [the god] remains. A god's power is sufficient to shine through flesh and be made manifest. This sort of becoming is known as DEIFICATION - it is Christ's gift to mankind. Overbeck's book is a MANUAL OF DEIFICATION which opens to the worthy. Christ taught him this personally after they met over 40 years ago.

ya bet ignorance about immortality makes life miserable - very nice work but don't forget the Psalm of Asaph [81 or 82]: I say ye are gods [quoted by Christ John X: 34-35]

The finite is an absurdity - e.g. finite space is an absurdity - and infinity is an absurdity - e.g. infinite space is an absurdity. Man is thus caught in the embrace of two absurdities - i.e. - gripped by two NONSENSES. This is because these absurdities are APPEARANCES & mortals are characterized by NONSENSICAL and-or ABSURD APPEARANCES. Man was once immortal but fell in battle from Heaven - I might add: fell on his head so that IMPERFECTION now supervenes. On the other hand, God is perfect so two 'unlikes' cannot match or know each other - therefore, God uses metamorphosis to change man back into an immortal. It is because Christ demonstrated this kind of POWER that He was murdered - it was a failed attempt to shut Him up.

What you call earthly life I call death: you are trying to immortalize yourself by leaving objects behind after your demise: I call greatness accessing the REALITY OF GOD because no-one reaches Heaven without going through hell. That is what Overbeck is painting.

I can´t accept the sacriface and suffering to reach eternity, this occidental religions kills the human, reaches heaven without going through hell? is your god crazy? I thought your god loved men, how can he make us suffer?
I really love the Overbeck paintings, but still don´t understand the god existence and his cruelty.

Hiya, Hector. God is love but, alas, in becoming man, was crucified by men. You have God [as we say] arse about face - i.e. - you have things the wrong way round. It's men who are vile, cruel, sadistic, nasty, murderous - it's THAT they 'injected' into Godhead. Jim is working on another dismembered god painting & the point he is making [among others] is that before Christ showed the TRUE FACE of God - gentle, loving, kind - men worshiped demons in His place. They still do & then attribute their own monstrosity to Christ. Every minute of every day men savage each other in vicious & pitiless ways as allies of Satan. God did not invent atrocity & suffering & horror - His enemies did: still, He takes the blame. As THE innocent man He's been set up by Satan and his filthy cronies.
